Lemons and Limes – antiseptic and anti-inflammatory

Nutritional value : rich in vitamins B and C

Natural therapeutic effects: anticatarrhal, antiseptic, anti-acid, antifungal, antirash

Lemons and limes are used as a cure for influenza and colds, but they are also a remedy for acidosis (their alkaline content is 5 times greater than their acidic content), heartburn, rheumatism, dysentery, gout, sciatica, lumbago, neuralgia – all diseases which cause the blood to be more acidic.

Because of its high potassium content, lemon juice is useful in dealing with heart weakness. Lemons are a powerful antiseptic and are useful for inflammation of the gums and to tighten loose teeth and render them white and shiny. Lemons destroy germs without destroying body tissue.

Mixed with honey, their juice is a remedy for throat troubles.

Pure lemon juice also cleans the liver and, via the liver, improves eyesight and helps restore muscular powers.

Beneficial in the treatment of: gastric troubles, asthma, worms, diabetes, piles, catarrh, boils, anemia

Plums and prunes – cleanse the intestinal tract

Nutritional value
rich in calcium, phosphorus and iron
rich in potassium
source of vitamins A, B, and C

The purple variety is slightly cooling while the yellow varieties tend to be neutral; sweet and sour flavour; builds body fluids. Used for liver diseases and diabetes; stewed prunes are a traditional remedy for constipation and are especially beneficial when excess liver and heat signs are present. Plums also treat cirrhosis of the liver, hardened or expanded liver conditions in general, and dehydration.

Sun dried prunes have the advantage of drying without fermenting, unlike plums which ferment when sulphur-dried.

Prunes are famous as a laxative. They move the bowels quickly. Best results are obtained when they are soaked overnight and eaten in the morning.

Remedy
Plums and prunes work directly on the nervous system. They can be quite uplifting when you are feeling irritable. Make prune tea with 50 grammes of dried prunes soaked overnight in 250 ml of distilled water. Let it simmer until the prunes are soft. Strain and add lemon to taste.

Recent research has shown that broccoli contains a photochemical called sulphophane. This triggers the body’s production of enzymes that protect the cell’s DNA from damage. Broccoli also contains dithiolthiones, which stimulate the body to fight cancer. That makes broccoli a number one cancer fighter when eaten daily. Broccoli is best eaten together with a protein – and never overcook it. This is the optimum combination to help convey amino acids to the brain.

Natural therapeutic effects

Strawberries - useful for gout and rheumatic problems

Nutritional value
contain mainly citric acid and malic acid
have large amounts of kalium (5 times more than bananas – only figs, dates and other dried fruits are richer in kalium)
very rich in vitamins A and C (to combat the formation of uric acid)
rich in iron (richer than most vegetables such as onions, beets, carots, radishes and potatoes)

Natural therapeutic effects
fruit – antiviral, anticancerous
leaf tea – alkalising, blood-cleansing

beneficial in the treatment of
gout
rheumatism

Strawberries also have a confirmed reputation for combating high blood pressure, and they are recommended in European traditional medicine for the elimination of kidney stones.

Their high iron content makes them therapeutic for anemia and fatigue. People with skin problems should enjoy plenty of this wonderful fruit, which cleanses and regenerates the intestinal flora. For full therapeutic effect, strawberries should be eaten on their own, or at least at the start of a meal.

Olives – richer in vitamin C than lemons.

Taste sweet

Element earth

Did you know?
Olives counteract poisoning from fish and mushrooms, relieve hangovers and help to dissolve bones after eating fish.
Olive oil only works as a remedy when cold-pressed. The best type is extra virgin olive oil. It is useful for lowering blood cholesterol.

Natural therapeutic values of olive oil
cholagogic, demulcent, emollient, laxative, anticancerous, antioxidant, cathartic

Persimmon
Very cooling thermal nature; sweet flavor; cools heat, especially lung heat; builds body fluids, moistens the lungs and resolves phlegm; tonifies the spleen-pancreas; sooths the mucous membranes in the digestive tract to relieve gastrointestinal inflammations; treats common hot and/or dry conditions such as often occur in thirst, canker sores, and chronic bronchitis.

The unripe persimmon has an “astringent” taste that makes the lips pucker from its tannic acid content; as persimmon ripens, the tannic acid is converted until none is left in the fully ripe state. The astringent property of partially ripe persimmon is desirable in treating these conditions: diaarrhea, dysentry, hypertension, and spitting up, coughing up or vomiting blood.

Kiwi fruit – beneficial in early stages of diabetes, when eaten with the skin
KIWIFRUIT isn’t just a pretty face in a nouvelle cuisine dish. This little fruit with the shabby fur coat is a treasury of nutritional riches. It contains twice as much vitamin C as oranges, more fibre than apples, and asmuch vitamin E as an avacado – about 3.5 mg per 100 g  /  3oz.
It’s particularly rich in potassium – of which western diets, high in sodium from processed foods – can be dangerously short. Potassium is vital to every single cell in our body and deficiency can lead to high blood pressure, depression, fatigue and poor digestion. The average kiwifruit will supply 250 mg potassium – but only 4 mg sodium.
Kiwis are the only anti-diabetic fruit. When on a kiwi fast, eat at least 3 Kg a day. A 14-day fast will bring the sugar content of the blood and urine back to normal. To ensure that kiwi fruit do not produce blisters, they need to be ripe. Organic kiwis are best because it is important to eat the skin, which is rich in minerals. To get rid of the not so tasty hairs, scrub the kiwis with a vegetable brush.

Beneficial in the treatment of
diabetes
weight problems

Recommended for
circulatory
digestive
skin
stress

Apples - blood purifier; cooked apples are good for diarrhoea

Nutritional value
rich in potassium, sodium, vitamin A, vitamin G
abundant source of vitamins A, C, B1, Niacin and panthothenic acid
1 litre of apple juice contains 3-4 grams of minerals

The large amount of phosphorus contained in apples makes them valuable as brain and nerve food, especially in cases of nervous exhaustion. They help ‘brain’ workers to stay clear and relaxed. Vitamin C is found in the skin of the apple.

Natural therapeutic effect
cleansing

Beneficial in the treatment of
sluggish bowels – cooking apples contain pectin, which absorbs excess water in the intestines and forms a solution that stimulates the bowels.
Diarrhoea after eating apples is a sign that the cleansing process has started. Caution: a raw apple diet will usually produce intestinal catarrh and dysentery
arthritic complaints and gout – apples are rich in citric and malic acid, which have the ability to neutralise excessive acidity in the blood. Apple skins are useful to minimise an excessive level of uric acid in the blood.
kidney disorders and skin afflictions – the large amounts of potassium salts in apples have a  diuretic effect.
kidney stones – cider is recommended as a preventative.
hypertension – apples reduce the sodium content in the tissues, thereby reducing hypertension and blood pressure.
high blood cholesterol – apples minimize the appetite and thereby lower blood cholesterol.
inebriation, dyspepsia, weak digestion, headaches, biliousness, autointoxication and constipation

Wheat

Healing properties: Cooling thermal nature; sweet and salty flavor; tonifies the kidneys; builds the yin; one of the few foods which Chinese medicine attributes with directly nourishing the heart – mind: calms and focuses the mind and can be used for palpitations and insomnia, irritability, menopausal difficulty, and emotional instability. Encourages growth, weight gain and fat formation – it is especially children and the frail person. On the other hand it should be eaten in small amounts if at all by the obese, as well as those with growths and tumors. Mildly astringent, wheat is used for juvenile bed wetting, spontaneous sweating, night sweats, and diarrhea; quenches thirst, moistens dry mouth and throat. Charred wheat, ground to a flour and mixed with sesame oil, can be applied to burns.

Wheat sometimes provokes allergic reactions. This is particularly the case with flour that is rancid from oxidation. Wheat flour should ideally be used right after grinding. otherwise it needs to be kept in an air tight container, refrigerated, and used within two weeks. Some people are allergic only to processed-flour products   and can eat pre-soaked whole berries (cooked), sprouted wheat, or wheat germ. If eating wheat causes bloating and gas, stomach pain, indigestion, excessive mucus or increased pulse rate, it is best avoided, especially during pregnancy.
Wheat absorbs a wider range of minerals from rich soil than other grains. In addition its nutrient profile – the comparison of its nutrients with one another – is similar to the human body. For that reason and because it nurtures the heart – mind, wheat is sometimes considered an ideal food for human growth and development. The fact that people have greatly overeaten  refined and rancid wheat products that have been genetically altered for smut resistance continuously since 1926, partly explains the many common alergies to this vital food.

Cherry
Warming thermal nature; sweet flavor; increases qi energy, tonifies the spleen – pancreas, and prevents involuntary seminal emission. Cherries are a well known remedy for gout, arthritis, and rheumatism. They also help overcome numbness in the limbs and paralysis as a result of rheumatism. Part of their action in rheumatic disorders occurs from their ability to eliminate excess body acids. Cherries are most beneficial for treating disorders accompanied by coldness, such as when the person feels permanently cold. Richly supplied in iron, cherries are often used to improve the blood and treat anemia..

Onions – combat colds and coughs; red onions contain large amounts of vitamin A and E
Nutritional values
rich in vitamins A and E, which are antioxidants, Oxidants are substances like free radicals, that destroy the tissue.
rich in vitamin C, calcium, iron (especially red onions) and sulphur.
Onions constitute one of the most powerful remedies that can be commonly found in the average household. The healing effect of red onion is greater than that of white onions. While the white onion is rich in vitamin E, the red onion contains both vitamin A and E. The onion is a powerful healer not only when eaten raw, but also fried, dried or boiled.
The fresh juice of an onion can be rubbed on burns, bites and stings.
Natural therapeutic effects
Antioxidant, antidiabetic, antifungal, antiviral, antibacterial, anticancerous, antithelmintic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, carminative, diuretic, expectorant, stomachic, tonic
Beneficial in the treatment of
catarrh
anemia
coughs and colds
influenza
liver cirrhosis
dropsy
dyspepsia
toothache
bruises
earache
kidney diseases
tuberculosis
nervous debility
brain fatigue
anxiety
bronchitis
insomnia
jaundice
Onions also strengthen the lungs and cleanse the colon.
Onions can help to prevent severe diseases of the respiratory system.

Eggplant
Cooling thermal nature; sweet flavor; reduces swelling; clears stagnant blood by dissolving congealed blood and accumulations such as tumors resulting from stagnant blood; specifically treats congealed blood affecting the uterus; also has haemostatic action (reduces bleeding). Used for bleeding hemorrhoids, blood in the urine, and bleeding in general; a rich source of bioflavinoids which renew arteries and prevent strokes and other hemorrhages. Treats dysentery, diarrhea accompanied by heat signs such as yellow tongue coating, canker sores (apply charred eggplant powder), snake and scorpion bites (apply a pack of raw eggplant); and frostbite (use a compress of room temperature eggplant tea). Influences the liver and uterus and is particularly helpful for resolving repressed emotions and their harmful effects on these organs.
Caution: Eggplant should be eaten sparingly by pregnant women. In Japan, women are advised not to eat eggplant during pregnancy because it can cause miscarriage.
Actually a fruit, eggplant combines with other foods like a non-starchy vegetable.

Potatoes – highly alkaline; work against arthritis and rheumatism; the raw juice is effective for stomach ulcers.
Nutritional values
rich in alkaline salts such as sodium and potassium, but lacking in calcium (therefore needs to be balanced with green vegetables)
rich in vitamins A and B
the skin is rich in chlorogenic acid which prevents cell mutation leading to cancer.
The water in which potatoes are boiled contains about 60 percent of the minerals and should not be thrown away. There is also much goodness in their skins. So see to it that you buy organically grown potatoes, cook them in a way that will retain most of their vitamins, and eat the skins.
They are best oven-baked in their jackets.
Raw potato is digestible only when the starch is removed. Grate the potato and squeeze out the starch by hand. Mixed with onions, tomatoes, lettuce and other raw vegetables it makes a most delicious salad.

Peas – blood-builder; have contraceptive powers
rich in chlorophyll
Garlic, ginger, cummin, oregano, asafoetida and lemon peel added to pea soup will assist digestion and help to prevent wind.
An Indian scientist, Dr Sanyal, observed that the population of Tibet had remained stable for 200 years. He suspected that the reason for this was something in their diet, which consisted mainly of barley and peas. He eventually succeeded in identifying an antifertilizing chemical, m-xylohydroquinone, in the pea. It appears to reduce fertility in women and the sperm count in men by half.
Nutritional and medicinal properties
Young peas are high in protein, carbohydrates and vitamins B and E, whereas dried peas are also rich in phosphorus, calcium, sodium and vitamin A and are a particularly valuable source of the B-complex vitamins. Weight for weight, peas contain as much protein as meat. Fresh peas are extremely nourishing and body-building. They help in anemia, low blood pressure, and emaciation. They contain nicotinic acid, which is believed to reduce cholesterol in the blood.

Grapes – their highly nutritious value makes them an excellent fruit for monofasts to purify the entire body system
Nutritional value
large amounts of potassium, low amount of sodium
contain vitamins A, B1, B2, C and a large amount of glycids
rich in pure glucose
Grapes are immensely valuable as a healing fruit.
They are rich in glucose, which is pure energy to the body. The glucose also supplies the heart with energy and strengthens the heart and its muscles. Grapes contain tartaric acid and malic acid. Tartaric acid stimulates the intestines.

As with many fruits, most of the benefits – minerals and vitamin B – are just under the skin. Grapes should be eaten, not just consumed as juice. The white grapes are richer in vitamins and are a better food in the morning. Red and black grapes are ideal as an evening meal. The high content of iron, copper and manganese makes the grape a great producer of haemoglobin. 250 ml of grape juice once a day wil help prevent secondary anaemia.
Because of the high content of potassium and water, the grape is a diuretic and thus good for kidney disorders. Grapes also stimulate hepatic and glycogenic functions and bile secretion. They also contain an element, similar to insulin, which is helpful in some kinds of diabetes.
  Grapes have a decalcifying effect.
Natural therapeutic effects
demulcent
laxative
cooling
diuretic
Beneficial in the treatment of
kidney troubles
gout, rheumatism and arthritis – dissolve uric acid
chronic and acute nephritis
anaemia

Parsnip
Warming thermal nature; sweet flavor (which increases if parsnips are picked after a few weeks of frosty weather); benefits the spleen-pancreas and stomach; helps clear liver and gall bladder obstructions; promotes perspiration; mildly diuretic; lubricates the intestines; reduces wind and damp conditions; analgesic (allays pain); concentrated in silicon.
Used in soups or teas for coughs, colds, and shortness of breath; also treats headaches, dizzieness, rheumatism, and arthritis.
Caution: Parsnip leaves are poisonous

Mushroom : Common Button Variety
Cooling thermal nature; sweet flavor; decreases fat level in the blood; helps to rid the respiratory system of excess mucus; has antibiotic properties and can be used to treat contagious hepatitis; increases white blood cell count and thereby bolsters immunity against disease-producing microorganisms; has anti-tumor activity and can help stop post-surgery cancer metastasis; promotes appetite; improves recovery time from measles by causing them to ripen. Most mushrooms including the button variety have the ability to reduce “heat toxins” from meat-eating (toxic reactions with heat signs).

Joe’s Message

Hi, my name is Joe and the circumstances of my life have shaped my philosophy of life which I would be privileged to be able to share with all of you. I have come to the realization that a change of attitude needs to take place in the world to bring it back from the brink of self-destruction. Everywhere we look, people are fighting over resources, greedily looking over their shoulders at how much better others are doing than they are. The world is suffering great poverty, despair, anger, frustration and lack of love for one’s fellow man. To me we are all brothers and sisters are part of one big (earth) family.

I am a simple man who feels heartbreak when I look around and see the state the world is in right now but I truly believe that we can all make a difference and start to change the world for the better one person at a time. What starts off as a trickle in a change of consciousness can in due course become a tidal wave of reform. I believe that my purpose in this life is to challenge, inspire and change the way our society thinks and acts with respect to how we make choices in the type of foods we select to grace our kitchens in our homes.

I own and run an organic produce business at 64 Victoria Road, Northcote 3070,Victoria, Australia, and I have a strong commitment to providing the best quality and most affordable organically-grown produce in Melbourne – that is my contribution to the community I am part of. What we put into our bodies sustains not just our physical body but also influences our mind, emotions and spirit. If we put toxins (in the form of herbicides, pesticides, fungicides and other chemicals) into our system, then our bodies will be under-functioning and our thoughts and feelings will be toxic too. This will be reflected in the world at large – if we are toxic then we will perpetuate that out into our world as we have by polluting and destroying it. ie. we re-create outside that which we feel inside ourselves.

I strongly believe that the quality of the foods we take into our bodies should be that which is healthy, nutritious and vibrant, and ones that contain a high degree of “life force” – to my level of understanding only organic foods which have been grown under optimal farming practices and in the process imbued with love can keep our families healthy and happy. If these kinds of foods are then consumed on a larger scale (on a world scale) many families (of many different cultures and races) will grow up in a healthy, positive and harmonious environment and help spread love, peace and joy into the far corners of the world. We are what we eat it has been said and I believe this holds out to be a universal truth.

I am an honest, caring man who is trying to play my part in healing the world and I lovingly choose to do that through my involvement with and support of the organic produce industry. I am registered with the Organic Retailers and Growers Association of Australia which has been established to ensure that the consumer gets access to the highest quality organic foods at the most competitive, affordable prices. I believe that my business which has now been going strong for over three years is Melbourne’s cheapest organic store without compromising at all on the quality of the goods that I sell. My challenge to you is to come check me out and help support the organic produce industry. I offer friendly personalized service and am always glad to answer any questions and to have a chat to you about my philosophy on food, life etc. My motto is …”I want to sell good quality and to make people happy.” – the more support I get from you the cheaper still I can make my prices – please help me make the world a healthier and safer place for our children to grow up in for the overall scheme of things we are all brothers and sisters, we are all part of one great, big family and we’re all descended from “stars” – Let’s all make a difference to the world.

Beauty of the World

Beauty of the world!

Imagine a circular room, a very big circular room and imagine taking all the different religions, political systems, social systems, scientific systems, all of the diverse and complex competing methods of living and place them all in the room, just like numerous wedges put together to form a whole cake.

Then lock the door and leave them there. Walk away from them. Take with you all ideas that was good from your own beliefs and just start to live them right now. No more arguing about different ways of reaching goodness, just be good, be peaceful, be loving, practice it now.

Our individual life is short and our individual energy is usually limited. Sometimes our hopes run dry but together that energy will support each other , it will make a difference , change will occur. Energy with good motivation brings results. Love and compassion, peace and understanding put you in touch with the profound purpose of life. The way you see things changes, you yourself begin to transform and grow beyond your present horizons.

What awaits us is what we search for. The way to get there is here before us, we only have to commit our minds and hearts to bring about correct actions and words. As these manifest powered by our individual energy, the potential for love and peace to obliterate war and greed, increases dramatically. Without the involvement of each one of us, so the potential drops by that degree. This is the responsibility each individual really faces in life.

Please don’t leave yourself out , join in with the rest of us in what ever way suits you, have faith, keep hope alive, you’re not alone and never have been.

So without every person , every mother and father helping to bring about this change for peace, all the children of the future will continue to suffer today. Not just in Australia but throughout the world. If we don’t change now then the opportunity will pass us by perhaps never to return. Regret will be a poor comfort.

The Stars are a reflection

The stars are a reflection! The stars are like human beings.

Stars are a reflection of human life.

When the stars drop it is a sign of a new born baby that has come down to earth.

We can count how many people are born and how many die.

Nobody can count the stars, no scientists or high spiritual beings.

We are made up of similar things as stars are.

There are many more stars in the sky compared to humans on the earth. We feed off the energy from the stars in the universe.

How many generations can we remember? Some of us can remember three some may be as lucky to remember four generations. Life never dies. We recycle ourselves back to the earth and our soul goes back up to the universe.

Every person has the responsibility to look after one another.

The majority of humans living on the earth are very confused, they are greedy, and do not want to share life with one another. It is hard for everyone to discover what is wrong with us, finding peace is easy but we make it very hard for each other.

We have to remember that everyone is hungry, thirsty and we all have pain. We all know what out needs are, our basic needs are all the same. We should be in touch with ourselves their for be able to touch one another. Consider that the world is empty without people, without humanity, just you and your partner. You create a family together, the family spread out to different lands. We all come from this family, it comes from you and l, one family. This is why we have to love one another, share our lives with one another, respect each other and not put others through any pain or unnecessary suffering.

The stars, moon and the sun share a happy peaceful life together, always giving us happiness. We don’t accept this happiness instead we chose sadness. We have plenty of land for everyone and it is ours to be shared. The sea never comes to the land to flood the earth, there is plenty of room for every human on this earth to live comfortably. There is enough room to live, to grow and to share life with others.

We don’t need weapons, we have to destroy them and work together as an extended family. When every day a new baby is born, people have new families. With every marriage people are creating a new family. We all love our children. Why can’t we create a safe and secure environment for our families that are, and are going to be.

How much do you love your self. How much time do we spend in creating a family. Finding a partner is usually the first step we take to create a family. We think about all the things we want to give our children before they are born. When they are born most people unfortunately bring them up on chemicals. It’s just like drinking a bottle of poison. We absorb everything that the food has absorbed. If the fruit and vegetable has absorbed chemicals then we absorb it into out bodies. There is no future in a poisonous body.

Organic food is high in nutrition and it tastes better. I am trying to introduce organic food to everybody. We all want good healthy food for everyone, so that we can all be healthy and happy. Because we are all part of one family, we want to give all of our family good food. We all want good healthy families, we all want the change. We have to start with the chemical farmers, to make them realize the benefits of organic foods. He thinks that the more he produces the better, but it is not good for humanity, for our family.

The insects come for a reason, they come to eat the leaves or to eat the fruit. When we take fruit and vegetables from the ground we need to put it back, in a compost to give back to the earth and insects. The insects want the same thing as we do, they want to eat and be happy.

If you have a hundred dollars in the bank and you draw on it everyday it wont last long. It works the same with fruit and vegetables, we can take but we have to put back. We have to work out the reasons for things. We have to work out the best ways to grow good things for our family.

All political parties liberal, labour, greens all the leaders and followers want the best for their families, for our family. Why cant we just work together to strive for health and happiness. All humanity needs food, we need to plan how we are going to make good food for the present and future.

We are living in paradise, if we destroy it we create hell. Our brothers and sisters around the world need to share what our country has to offer and benefit the world. We have a greed for paper money and think that money is going to benefit us. We are creating weapons and things to damage our bodies and our world.

With planning we can change the bad to good. Look at chickens look at birds, they never change their life from the times they are born until they die. They do not stress, they do not create work for themselves, they only work for their food. Just before dark they start looking for somewhere to go to sleep. They don’t worry about tomorrow. When the morning comes they look up at the sky and rejoice the new day. They then start to look again for their days food. They do not collect for tomorrow, next week, next year or for his life, he just collects enough food to get him through the day. He enjoys the days happiness. He doesn’t do yoga, meditation or need to see a counsellor because he doesn’t carry stress with him, he lives for everyday happiness.

If we try to learn from chickens and birds then we wont have the problems in our life that we have today. We spend our life working, collecting money, collecting houses, collecting cars. When we stop collecting things then we will have a happier and simpler life. When we get old it is to late to enjoy life, we have to enjoy it while we are young. The bird and chickens life is not stressful because it is satisfied with what he has, he doesnt spend his life collecting and he accepts what life has to offer him.

We have prepared atom bombs and nuclear weapons to damage the environment and the earth, and to put one another through pain. Every government is scared about what power the other government has. We shouldn’t be scared from one another we should be sharing our lives with one another. We have to start acting for the good, every leader has a responsibility to work together to make a peaceful world. Leaders should be working together for the greater good of all mankind, therefore should be seeing their people as one family, and to love one another as brothers and sisters. If we see each other as being part of one family then we can all love and respect one another and promote peace in our world.

The nuns, priests, and monks from all religions lock them selves away in isolation and pray. A lot of these people are fit to work, to plant fruit and vegetables for the poor, its like a prayer. Instead of collecting money at mass why don’t we go out and plant food in our land and then give the poor the food, which is what they need more then a small donation. The poor can also work with the land. We can create good things for ourselves and make everyone happy.

All humanity is responsible to make something good, we all have a responsibility to do good. It is our full time job.
